“Opening in early 2014, Fukuryu Ramen had great reviews. Our first time coming to Fukuryu Ramen was sometime in April and my husband and I were impressed (especially with the Dragon ramen). One weeknight we decided to bring a friend and share our food experience. The ramen was very tasty and I thoroughly enjoyed the spicy wings.”

“Fukuryu Ramen is located in a small alley way in the Melbourne CBD near Chinatown. Walking up a flight of stairs, you enter the restaurant area where there is the menu mounted on the wall and a service area for ordering. Everything is furnished nicely with new modern furniture and the restaurant itself is very spacious, compared with most ramen shops.

The restaurant is more of a self service restaurant as you order at the counter, then find yourself a seat and wait for the food to be delivered to your table. I thoroughly enjoyed the all you can drink chilled water, sparkling water and hot water which was also a self service item. The interactions with the staff were good when ordering and when food was delivered. Food arrived quickly with not a long wait which I was very appreciative of.

The ramen my husband and I had were very tasty with full flavored soups. I found that the soups were quite rich in volume at Fukuryu ramen. Something that I did notice was that the meat was room temperature, slightly cooler than the soup but when soaked was very nice. I really liked the spicy kick of the chicken wings with the tasty sauce. Note: If you like spicy with a really think soup, I would recommend the Dragon Ramen – Very spicy but still has flavor to boot!

Always a good meal at Fukuryu Ramen. Until next time.
